Re-membering: A Sister Project is a collaborative art project created with Serian Strauss that explores healing and the transformative power of making healing visible. Rooted in the honoring of Orisha, ancestors, family, and community, the project approaches artmaking as a ritual of remembrance and healing. Completed in the summer of 2015, the body of work comprises seven mixed-media pieces made from found windows and doors, transformed into structures that hold three-dimensional sacred objects. Each piece serves as an altar space dedicated to Orisha and ancestors, inviting viewers to engage with the healing energies held within the work and to reflect on healing as a collective process.
